On the occasion of the 80th birthday of the Japanese graphic designer Katsumi Asaba, 80 graphic designers, architects and artists from all over the world were invited to design a carpet. These carpets were exhibited in Shenzhen, China in April/May this year.

Each designer was able to share his or her wishes for Asaba, as well as his or her worldviews, artistic perspectives, languages, cultures and regional differences, and ideas about a globally-connected world and other contemporary issues in the form of a carpet.

Notable participants include design studios and designers such as CYAN, Fons Hickmann, Anna Kulachek, Uwe Loesch, M/M Paris, Stefan Sagmeister, Paula Scher, Niklaus Troxler, Henning Wagenbreth, Zwölf and many others.

On display will be a selection of more then 30 carpets as well as 80 original posters by Katsumi Asaba.

Due to limited space we are unfortunately not able to show all 80 carpets.
